Edward was bred by Diane Royal from Aureate Cattery, a breeder of Abyssinians since 1964. He is named after Edward VanHalen from the legendary rock band "Van Halen". Edward was my 25th birthday present from my husband and he and his brother Thomas were also bought to assist in my recovery from depression. He is a typical or tawny Abyssinian with the most beautiful ticked fur, black tipped tail and luxurious apricot coloured tummy. He is an extremely stunning looking boy and has the softest sweetest heart. We picked up Edward on 21st May 1998 from Wamboin on the NSW/ACT border. It was a rather long and distressing journey back to Sydney as we had a two seater car and I had to nurse him (in the cat carrier) and he cried all the way. He settled in quickly to his new home and was most put out when we brought his litter brother Thomas home two days later. Edward has never really enjoyed the companionship of other cats but is whole heartedly devoted to his humans, particularly myself. I don't think words could ever begin to describe the bond I share with Edward - the love we share is very intense. As I have mentioned elsewhere in this site, Edward has been my life - I know I wouldn't be here today if he hadn't been my companion over the last four years. He has provided unconditional love and devotion like I have never experienced before - he is a truly good soul.
